Board membership
The TRA Board of Trustees consists of three statutory members and five elected trustees. Four of the five elected trustees are active members of TRA, and one is a TRA retiree. Elected trustees serve four-year terms.
The statutory members of the board are the Commissioner of Education, the Commissioner of Minnesota Management and Budget, and a representative of the Minnesota School Boards Association. Commissioners may appoint designees to serve on their behalf.
The trustees annually elect a president and a vice president.
